GROUSE GRIND + LUNCH AT THE TOPHike the 900 metre vertical Grouse Grind then take the tram down. HOST: Jacqueline Gustafson, Senior Manager, KPMG LLP FITNESS: Good DURATION: 9AM – approx 1PM (1-2 Hour hike followed by lunch) COST: The lift ticket is $10 to download. Lunch at the top with the wonderful view is about $10/person. Bus fare from downtown to Grouse Mountain is $2.50 each way. |

VANCOUVER BY BIKEThis day is all about fun in the sun and cycling through one of North America’s most beautiful cities. With bikes rented from Spokes, you’ll start biking at Stanley Park and visit False Creek, the Olympic Village, Granville Island, and enjoy lunch at Kitsilano Beach. You can return your bike after lunch, hang at Kitsilano Pool, or continue on bike to Spanish Banks. The day will end with much needed refreshments at Cardero’s in Coal Harbour. KAYAKING FALSE CREEK & ENGLISH BAY + LUNCHAn excellent way to see Vancouver is from the water. We’ll paddle from Vancouver’s famous Granville Island through False Creek’s marinas and out to either Stanley Park or Kitsilano Beach (depending on conditions). HOST: Ian Bell, CEO, AppSocial Media, Inc. FITNESS LEVEL: Paddling experience is not mandatory. This is somewhat strenuous so you should be someone who exercises at least occasionally. If you are a beginner itching to try kiting or an advanced rider up for some racing, freestyle, or free riding, Squamish promises a day of sun, consistent wind, skilled instructors, and friendly Canadian kiters. MOTORCYCLE THE SEA-TO-SKY HIGHWAYTake in Canada’s most beautiful road as you rip up the Sea-To-Sky highway from Vancouver to Whistler. We’ll leave late in the morning, ride for about 90 minutes up to Whistler Mountain, enjoy lunch on a sunny patio, and make our way home in the afternoon. You’ll be led by local entrepreneur and motorcycling enthusiast Ian Andrew Bell. You must be insured and licensed to ride a motorcycle in order to participate. 5K Run & CoffeeIs your body craving some attention after a few days of focusing on your mind at the conference? Come out for a well-deserved morning ocean run, led with enthusiastic local runner, Alicia Woodside. Explore the beauty of the Seawall and Stanley Park and learn local history, while getting your morning run in! We will start at the Coal Harbour seawall, and run a 5-kilometer route on trail and Seawall, followed by stretches on the edge of the scenic harbour. For those who are interested, there will be a post-run coffee social at a local Coal Harbour café. HOST: Alicia Woodside, UBC Centre for Teaching, Learning, & Technology FITNESS: All levels of runners are welcome, as participants will be paired with others at a similar speed.
